Hungarian standards are developed by the Hungarian Standards Institution (MSZT) which was founded in 1921. MSZT is a member body of the ISO, CEN, CENELEC, IEC, ETSI. The basic activity of MSZT is the maintenance of the stock of national standards, the development and issue of new standards, their publication and the withdrawal of obsolete ones. A major task of MSZT is the implementation of European standards. European and international standards have been implemented. Hungarian standards are preceded by the letters MSZ. Example: MSZ 23; MSZ 2295; MSZ 120/3; MSZ ISO 2892 (ISO standard); MSZ EN (European standard adopted)
