The China State Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision is responsible for materials standards in China. The standards are all preceded by the upper case letters GB, JB, and YB. A /T following the letters means that the standard is pending. The numeric standard identification then follows with a dash and then the year the standard was approved. Example: GB 700; GB 8492; GB/T 13796; JB/ZQ 4299; YB 9; YB/T 036.4
